Saturday, 24 December 1994 – Great Barrier Reef
On Day 8 we had a special treat! We drove north from Cairns along the spectacular coastline to Port Douglas. We were then taken by fast catamaran to the outer edge of the famous Great Barrier Reef. Once there we were able to snorkel. In fact this is where I first learned to snorkel. The coral was amazing & it was a wonderful day. We had a lavish smorgasbord lunch. It was a tired group returning back to Cairns.
