Thursday, 29 December 1994 – Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon
An early morning climb to the top of Ayers Rock, or for the less energetic, the optional light aircraft flight over the rock. Tour around the base of the Rock, which is actually the tip of an underground sandstone mountain. A late morning departure by coach through the rugged Outback to Kings Canyon in the Watarrka National Park. Stop at the Canyon entrance for a chance to climb the rocks or just marvel at the panorama of red cliffs, gorges and the boulder-strewn canyon floor. Enjoy a “stockman’s supper” this evening at the lodge.
